Amoeba Lamp (Lava-style)

A fascinating, eye-catching, most attractive item.
Not so much a lamp as an internally mobile sculpture!

Based on the design of the 1960s style "lava-lamps"but much, much taller! Consists of a spun aluminium base and cap (rocket-style), with a long-tall, 2.75 inch dia. glass tube in-between. The tube contains a clear liquid and either a blue or purple wax substance. The 8 Inch.(20cm) diameter base hides a 30watt light-bulb which, when switched on heats up the wax .

As the wax warms it begins to look like it has come to life. Transforming into amoeba-like globules which traverse the length of the tube in a continuous slow dance. Amalgamating and dividing seemingly at will as though they are attempting to hypnotise their spectators.

Because of the exceptional length of the tube, the amount of light given out is not excessive. The real effect is the movement of the beautiful shape-changing globules.
